Carol Douglas: About

Carol Douglas (b. April 7, 1948 in Brooklyn New York) was a member of The Chantels in the early 1970s and then went on to score several solo hits. She is probably best known for her disco hit "Doctor's Orders," which hit #11 on the Hot 100 and #2 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts in 1974-1975. In 1976 she hit #1 on the Dance Chart with "Midnight Love Affair" / "Crime Don't Pay" and she continued to place singles on this chart until 1982. The single also made the #96 position in Cashbox's Top 100 chart.

Although not internationally famous, she did release a one-off single in the UK in 1978, which was a cover of The Bee Gee's #1 hit single, "Night Fever", released earlier on in the year. Carol Douglas' cover was an instant flop and only reached #66 in the UK. Read more about ...
