Lifer (originally called Strangers with Candy), was a five-piece nu metal music group originating from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in the United States.
The band formed in 1999, and is most notable for winning MTV's "Ultimate Cover Band" contest, where they performed their own version of A-ha's hit song "Take On Me".
Signed to Universal Music, Lifer released their self-titled album on August 14, 2001. The album was widely panned by critics (ie: The All Music Guide gave it a rating of 1?? out of 5 ), and the band withered away into obscurity after the departure of guitarist Aaron Fink and bassist Mark James Klepaski in late 2001. They would later join the now popular alternative metal/post-grunge music group Breaking Benjamin.
After the demise of Lifer, vocalist Nick Coyle and drummer Chris Lightcap went on to form a band called "myDownfall" which later split up. Read more about ...
